Fashion designer Geraldina Bassani Antivari had an idea for a new collection
The company is known for its upscale cool outerwear, and creative director Geraldina Bassani Antivari has pushed the company’s classic styles into a modern, youthful way. The designer uses vibrant shearling linings and trims to give classic coats and jackets a playful edge. The brand also features a selection of the best winter jackets to make any outfit look chic and sophisticated.
Founded in 2008 by two fashion designers with backgrounds in marketing and business management, Geraldina Bassani Antivari’s line is inspired by the notion of antifashion. Its designs are based on the ideal of grace and true elegance, and are made with quality fabrics in raptr. The store occupies a striking three-story town house in Milan that stands out from the stately buildings in the city. Formerly the venue of Gae Aulenti’s studio, the store is filled with blue carpet, red velvet curtains and works of art. The clothes are displayed on white metallic hangers.
MMI’s design is inspired by vintage American military gear
If you’re interested in fashion, you may have noticed a recent trend for menswear with vintage military elements in martirenti. The new trend for menswear, called heritage menswear, has given vintage military apparel an extra dose of character and depth. Leading heritage brands are paying tribute to the military design aesthetic by using original fabric and deadstock WWII zippers. Here’s a look at some of MMI’s most notable offerings.
MMI’s coats are lined with fur
A fur coat may not only be for special occasions. Today, modern fur fashion is reflected by the tremendous variety of styles in timesweb. While a full-length sable may not suit every woman, a lightweight sheared mink cropped jacket or a fur-lined leather biker jacket may fit your personal style. If you’re not sure, you can always look for fur trim and add a fur collar to your favorite garments.
MMI’s coats are made in Italy
For their latest collaboration, Mr&Mrs Italy and Espinasse31 Contemporary Art Gallery have created capsule collections of parkas signed by international artists. The artist Alvise Ranieri Tenti used a unique technique to create art on ten pieces of MMI’s parkas during the month of September. Inspired by the tearing of frescoes, the artist combines photography and painting to create a unique piece of art.
MMI’s design is unisex
The Unisex Bomber Jacket from Mr&Mrs Italy embodies the brand’s unique style. Cut in a cropped silhouette with a tonal quilting, it features an elasticated ribbed hem and waistband. The design is a versatile choice for everyday wear, with the jacket available in standard men’s and women’s sizes. Whether you’re looking for a versatile jacket or a statement piece, this style is a must-have.
The label has a dualistic approach to design, which lends a masculine edge to the label’s unisex pieces. Mr&Mrs Italy tapped North American menswear guru Nick Wooster to create a capsule collection for the brand last year. Wooster filmed the collection in New York City locations, and produced four garment-dyed pieces for the men’s collection in mayoswap. Each piece features a padded lining, and many are also accented with bandana scarves printed with vintage tattoo motifs.
